SECRETS FROM EXPERIENCE

An Experience that revealed me certain secrets of life.      It was my second half of teenage. I was losing control of my mind over body...

UTTARAYANA / SANKRANTI

Uttarayana is the turning point of Sun from South to North, Sun reaches its maximum Southern declination of 23 degrees and 27 minutes on 21/22 December every year and starts diminishing in its declination indicating that it turns towards Northern latitudes, of which India is a part. If the festival Sankranti is to be celebrated on Uttarayana day, it should be on 21/22 December every year. But the Sankranti is being celebrated on the date of entry of Sun in the sign Capricorn of the fixed zodiac. But the entry of Sun in to the Capricorn sign of the movable zodiac is 21/22 of December every year, and tally with Uttarayana date, Descripancy occurred as the backward movement of first point of Aries (precession  of equinoxes) is not taken into consideration. At this rate Sankranti is getting shifted by one day in every 72 years. It will come even in mid summer in the long future, whereas it should come in winter only, as the Sun is supposed to be far away on Uttarayana Day/Sankranti. It is high time to correct the date of Sankranti. Some one should take interest to do so. This is the opinion of the clebrared indian astronomers.
