It is a
known fact that the
ancient Indian saints had many spiritual powers with them. They used to leave
their body and have suitable journey into the universe and return back into
their body which remained alive and active even when their soul left the body. How
far they travelled into the universe is not recorded. They only used to tell
the secrets to their disciples only orally. Hence these secrets were lost as the
civilization developed. Yet there is an attempt by some recent saints to record
some known secrets, I will discuss about this book later.
Our body consists of mainly 3 parts, the
physical body which is more important in this world. Besides this we have astral
body and causal body also. According to Indian saints the astral body is more
important in our life after death. We move in the different universe of
different wave lengths in that universe. Since this astral body was latent in
us before death rarely it comes into action in our life if we observe
carefully. For example when we sleep and wake up in the night occasionally this
astral body becomes active jut for 3 seconds only. Since the two worlds are
overlapping if there is someone near us in the overlapping astral world we can
fully see them in full form as we see a normal human being with our physical
body. Some scientists consider this as extension of dream. A dream need not
take place where we are sleeping. In dream we may be somewhere else. Here we
are at the same place every time where we sleep. Hence it cannot be treated as
extension of dream. It is overlapping astral world only. Some Indian saints who
developed sixth sense have described this astral world as below taken from the
book “Autobiography of a yogi” by Paramahansa Yogananda.
“There are many astral worlds teaming with
astral beings. The inhabitants use astral vehicles, or masses of light to
travel from one planet to another faster than electricity or radioactive energies. The astral universe is infinitely
beautiful, clean, pure and orderly.
There are no dead planets or barren lands ----- weeds, bacteria, insects
and snakes are absent, --- Unlike the variable climate and seasons of the
Earth, the astral spheres maintains the even temperature of an eternal spring.
Cood ones can travel freely but evil spirits are confirmed to limited zones. Astral being dematerialize
or materialize their forms at will. All astral beings are free to assume any form and can easily commune together.--- No one is
born of woman. Astral persons through fiats of cosmically attuned will bring
offspring into being in significantly pattered astral forms. The astral body is
not subject to cold or heat or other natural conditions. Asrral beings are able
to effect changes in their forms by lifetronic force and by holy mantric
vibrations --- By intuition astral persons pierce the veil and observe human
activities, but man cannot view the astral spheres unless his sixth sense is
somewhat developed. Thousands of earth dwellers have momentarily glimpsed an
astral being or an astral world.
The following chapters in the book
Autobiography of a Yogi may give some secrets of the ancient powers of yogi’ of
Inda.
“The saint with two bodies, The sleepless
saint, The science of kriya yoga, Kasi reborn and discovered, The law of
miracles, materializing a palace in Himalayas, The resurrection of Sri
Yukteswar, The woman yogi who never eats, etc. This book is worth reading.
After reading the book the following questions enter our mind
1.) Our ancient yogis used to leave their
bodies used to travel into the universe taking light ray as vehicle. But how
far they travelled and what they discovered about the universe is not revealed
on record except informing their own disciples only orally. Hence the secrets
they know are not recorded and hence became unknown. 2.) The astral body has no
mass hence it can travel with infinite speed by wish itself. But the human body
has mass. Hence it cannot travel with infinite speed or with the speed of
light. If we can find a way by improving our sixth sense and contact the astral
persons we may get some clues on the secrets of the universe utilizing their
services. Since our world and astral world are overlapping it may be easy to
contact them if we try. I think that it is the only way to explore the universe.
3.) Since the astral body is also a part of us in this world if we can develop the
ability to leave the physical body and travel into the universe with astral body
duly retaining our physical body alive as done by ancient Indian saints, we can
explore the universe. By chance we may come into contact with the aliens also and
understand them for mutual help. 4.) On earth also we are using telepathy and
clairvoyance by those who developed sixth sense. We can improve them further
into the universe.
